Expanding our network ensures that we are always within reach of our customers. In the first half of 2018, we launched two facilities in the region. Cycle & Carriage Bintang opened its 13th outlet in Malaysia in March 2018. The Commercial Vehicle Centre located in Gopeng, Perak, will serve a fleet of FUSO and Mercedes-Benz trucks. We also unveiled a multi-brand service centre at Sin Ming Avenue, Singapore. This is our sixth service centre in Singapore, and will attend to vehicles from Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi.


Our expansion plans continued with the Mercedes-Benz Center Expansion Ground-breaking Ceremony in October 2018. When it opened in 2006, the Mercedes-Benz Center – Singapore was the first dealer-built brand centre and the first Mercedes-Benz Center outside Europe. The $12 million expansion underway at 301 Alexandra Road will jumpstart the next phase of the Centre’s life cycle. To cater for the rapidly growing Mercedes-Benz car population, the upgraded facility will include two additional floors, more car park lots and workshop bays and, in 12 months’ time, better and faster service.

Centre Of Competence Certification

The Centre of Competence certification, conferred by Daimler AG, involves a stringent evaluation on the Mercedes-Benz workshop equipment for both body repair and paint areas, auxiliary material, repair process, quality of workforce and administration practices. The certification assures customers that their vehicles are restored up to global standards set by Mercedes-Benz. Cycle & Carriage is proud to receive the certification for two of our service centres in 2018. Both Mercedes-Benz Body Care & Paint Centre in Pandan Loop, Singapore, and Batu Caves, Malaysia, achieved a perfect score of 100%, marking them as among the highest-ranking Mercedes-Benz service centres globally. Our Johor Bahru and Bukit Tengah facilities having achieved the certification in 2017, the Batu Caves outlet becomes Cycle & Carriage Bintang’s third Centre of Competence in Malaysia. This means we now have the largest Centre of Competence network in Malaysia, with certified facilities in both the northern and southern regions as well as the Klang Valley. In Singapore, we are currently the only certified Mercedes-Benz Body Care & Paint Centre.

Cycle & Carriage Wins Regional Skills Competition

The Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars Southeast Asia (SEA) II Skills Competition is held every two years to honour the best technician, service advisor and process specialist. This year’s edition saw a total of 631 participants. Together, Cycle & Carriage Bintang and Cycle & Carriage Singapore produced 11 out of 25 finalists, the highest number of finalists from a single dealership. The competition emphasised the importance of a well-rounded service professional. Our skilled technicians faced numerous challenges in the form of theory and practical tests as well as a quiz. Eventually, Cycle & Carriage was crowned Champion for Qualified Maintenance Technician and Qualified Parts Process Specialist and was runner-up in four other categories.

Staying Connected With myC&C App

myC&C app, introduced in August 2018, moves us closer to our customers. With the launch of the app, Cycle & Carriage can serve our car owners better as aftersales services and processes are streamlined and more accessible than ever. App users have access to useful information such as the car IU number, chassis number, warranty expiry and service centre locations. Car owners have the ability to manage multiple cars within the app as it provides an overview of all vehicles purchased with Cycle & Carriage. Besides tracking service credits and service plans/packages, myC&C allow easy booking and managing of service appointments. The app offers car care tips, exclusive offers, events and updates, and also makes it convenient for customers to contact us or provide feedback. The app is currently available in Singapore, with plans to roll out regionally.
